In 1952, Mapes Industries was founded with a simple goal: to develop better specialty architectural products. The company started by manufacturing storefront canopies and laminated veneer panels for building entrances and remodeling. These products helped to change the face of commercial construction and set a new level of expectation in quality and service.
From our location in the U.S. heartland, Mapes’ hard work became well-known and the company grew beyond its initial, humble beginnings.
Today we’ve come a long way. In fact, all across the U.S., Canada and the Caribbean, Mapes has become the leading manufacturer of high load aluminum canopies, aluminum walkway covers and sun control louvers. We’re proud of this testament to our dedication to customers in the architecture and construction industries over these decades.
