The all-extruded Super Lumideck is designed to meet local building codes for snow and wind load. Free spans up to 20′, dependent upon local codes and load requirements, can provide a high strength protective cover with a minimum of support structure.

Built from all-extruded T6-6063 aluminum, the system is engineered for high-load applications, including heavy snow (100+ lbs per sq. ft.) and hurricane-force winds. Drainage is typically handled internally through the posts for a clean look, though options for an 8-inch fascia with external downspouts or front scuppers are also available.

How are the posts secured to the site?
  • Mapes offers three primary mounting options:
    • In-Ground Footing: Posts are set directly into concrete footings for maximum stability.
    • Surface-Mounted Post Boot: Posts are secured to existing concrete using a decorative and structural “boot.”
    • Surface-Mounted Angle: A low-profile attachment method for simplified installation on existing slabs.

Posts are typically 4 inches x 4 inches or 6 inches x 6 inches square extruded aluminum tubes, scaled to meet local wind and snow load requirements. While heights are fully customizable, they are frequently designed with a clearance of 8 to 12 feet to ensure ADA compliance and adequate pedestrian headroom.
